Hosting Gin

Before you start a game, you must first seat the players. Select the player you wish to seat from the list of players that have joined your game (lower right of game screen). Click the player's name and then click "North" or "South". After both the players are seated, you may begin the game. To start the game, click the "Start Game" button above the list of players.

Host Options

The host of a game has the options to seat, mute or kick players at the table and lock the door.

Seat - To replace a player, there is no need to remove the player first -- just click the name of the player you wish to seat, click the word "Seat", and click the seating position of the player to be replaced.

Auto Mute - When you click the "Auto Mute" button, if a muted player disconnects from the table and comes back, they will still be muted.

Lock Door (default setting unlocked) - When this option is checked, no one can enter the table.

Nick Options

There are several options that you have as host that you can access by clicking on the Nick located in the Nick box located in the bottom right corner. They are as follows:

Seat North - This allows you to seat the selected Player in the North (blue) seat.
Seat South - This allows you to seat the selected Player in the South (red) seat.

Mute - To mute someone at a table you are hosting, click their name in the list of players and then click "Mute". When someone is muted, he/she will not be able to chat or play sounds at that table.

Kick - To kick someone from the table you are hosting, click on his/her name in the list of players and then click "Kick". Kicking removes a player from your table. He/she can rejoin unless you have the door locked.

Cancel - This allows you to close the Nick option menu without making a selection.

Dealing the Hand

The hand is dealt with 10 cards to one player, and 11 cards to the other.  The hand begins when player with 11 cards discards one.

Playing Your Cards

To select a card from the draw pile, click on the rectangle on table with a circle in the middle.  To select the top discard, click on that card.  To discard a card in your hand, click on the card you wish to discard.

Knock/Gin

When you're ready to end the hand, click the knock/gin button after drawing your card.  A gray box will pop up in which you and your opponent will sort your cards.  You will first be prompted to select a discard.  Click on the card in your hand that you wish to discard.  You will then be prompted to select the first card of the set.  Click on the first card of one of your runs/set.  Continue clicking on the cards in that run/set until all are sorted.  When you're ready to start sorting the next run/set, click the "Start next run/set" button.  When all runs/sets have been sorted, click the "Done" button.

You also have an "Undo" button should you make a mistake in sorting.  If you wish to undo more than the last card you sorted, continue clicking "Undo" until you clear the desired card, then continue sorting as usual.

If your opponent knocks, sorting is exactly the same EXCEPT you will not be prompted first to discard a card.

Sounds

You can play sounds during the game that the other players will hear. Click the "Sounds" button, then choose a sound from the sounds in your list. To not hear the sounds being played during the game, click the "Sounds" button and click the "Sound is On" button. You will still be able to hear the beep for your turn if the "Beep on My Turn" option is checked in the "Options" menu.
